Cheryl Swirnow

CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF SHERPAA; HEALTH CARE INNOVATION EXPERT
Cheryl Swirnow is the co-founder of Sherpaa. Marie Claire has referred to Cheryl as "the healthcare game changer." Cheryl began her career, after graduating from Cornell's School of Hotel Administration, at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York running their special services division. Before starting Sherpaa, Cheryl was running the human resources department of The Barbarian Group. Cheryl has taken her nearly 12 years of HR and hospitality experience to Sherpaa and their clients.

Since 2012, Cheryl has audaciously helped Sherpaa raise over $5 million in funding, with the aim of making healthcare painless for everyone. With the condition of healthcare today—skyrocketing premiums, month-long waits for doctors and complicated transactions—Cheryl realized most people do not fully understand their insurance plan, nor how to choose the right plan for their needs. Sherpaa solves this by serving as a first line of defense against unnecessary doctors' office appointments, overcharges and billing errors. Sherpaa's seasoned medical and insurance experts make sure, virtually, that you receive a proper medical diagnosis, advice and, if necessary, prescription, without having to leave your home or office. If your problem can't be solved over the phone, Sherpaa refers you to a recommended specialist for a same-day appointment.

Cheryl and Co-founder Jay Parkinson are leading the way to healthcare's reinvention. She and her company have been featured everywhere from the New York Times to Forbes to the Wall Street Journal and already boast big-name clients with the likes of Tumblr and Etsy.
