Jon Batiste to release album with Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers

GUILD speaker and pianist Jon Batiste is in the last stages of releasing a collaborative album with Chad Smith from
Red Hot Chili Peppers. Other artists on the album include Killah Priest, Bill Laswell and more. Chad Smith describes the new record's sound to be "avant-tribal-funk."

Shaherose Charania on '35 Woman Changing Technology' list

GUILD speaker Shaherose Charania was featured in Glamour magazine's 35 Women Under 35 Who Are Changing The Tech Industry. Shaherose founded Women 2.0, now one of the world's largest community-driven media brand for women in technology and entrepreneurship, which, among other things, offers meet-ups and conferences to bring visibility to women in tech. Women 2.0 has reached over 100, 000 since its inception in 2006.

Jordan Kassalow presented with the Helen Keller Service Award

Jordan Kassalow, Founder of VisionSpring, was honored with the Helen Keller Service Award at Helen Keller International's second annual World Sight Day Luncheon, on October 9th. Through his efforts with VisionSpring, Jordan has created over $269 million in economic impact and brought sight to millions in neglected communities around the world.

World Sight day is an annual day of awareness to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment.

Hellen Keller International is dedicated to saving the sight and lives of the world's most disadvantaged people with cost-effective, scientifically proven programs, reaching millions of underserved people in Africa, Asia and the United States.  

 

President Clinton endorses "Abundance"

Last week, Peter Diamandis shared the stage with President Bill Clinton during the closing session of the Clinton Global Initiative. 

Clinton took this opportunity to recommend Abundance, as the audiences' next read, co-authored by Diamandis and fellow GUILD speaker Steven Kotler.
